[News|StarCast] Jung Yonghwa releases a special album full of Pink Floyd’s sensibility on February 4th

Singer Jung Yong Hwa will release a special album collaborated with a global design group.

Jung Yong Hwa’s first regular album ‘One Fine Day’ that was released on 20th is produced in a special edition, having the size of a LP size which will be released on February 4th, and making headlines since UK’s Storm Studios designed its jacket cover.

Storm Studios, which is the later self of UK’s legendary design group ‘Hipgnosis’, has been in charge of jacket cover arts of global musicians such as Pink Floyd, Muse, Biffy Clyro, The Cranberries, and The Alan Parsons Project. Especially, the prism jacket cover of Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ that is evaluated as the best album is picked as the major work and the 20th century’s design icon. It is the first time for the Storm Studios to work on a Korean musician’s album which is Jung Yong Hwa’s album jacket cover.

Storm Studios’ art director Dan Abbott conveyed about the trigger he got to collaborate with Jung Yong Hwa, “Our cover art cannot be made if we don’t get inspiration from music and lyrics. I worked with him by getting an idea from the great themes of loneliness, romance, and memories that are contained in ‘One Fine Day’.”

Storm Studios took a close-up of Jung Yong Hwa’s eye and filmed it in order to make the cover of ‘One Fine Day’s special edition. The dreamlike and unique cover art attracts attention since a girl is fallen in Jung Yong Hwa’s pupil. ‘One Fine Day’s special edition, which newly includes additional cuts and making stills of the previous A and B editions, will be sold by reservation on 30th.

Jung Yong Hwa proved his global popularity by ranking No.1 in iTunes album charts of 7 countries such as Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Macao at the same time of the release of his first regular album, ‘One Fine Day’ which was on January 20th.
